Manti by sportygirl4114 Manti by sportygirl4114
Color is wonderful, is it not? Especially when it works with architecture, which is another obsession of mine. This is one of my favorite LDS temples for it's structure, and yes I love it so much, I gave my dog the same name as well because, to paraphrase Oscar Wilde, it's "a name that inspires confidence." I tried to work with the clouds as best as I could, but I think overall it turned out well. Enjoy =)

Isn't it a trip? I remember the first time I saw it, it's so perfectly situated. Are you currently living in Utah or were you just in Manti for the wedding?

I live in Highland...and yeah, that sinclair station is in Elberta...just outside Goshen. I used to live in Santaquin.

If you ever make it to Scipio, then there is a really cool Sinclair station there as well...Scipio is just north of Filmore on I-15.

I lied. With Art.com it's 15% for the entirety. They use to seperate it out, but I guess they've combined it recently. mm. If you go to the site (artistrising.com) it explains everything, much better than I could. Oh ps, their submission criterion are more strict in terms of size of print on file and negative space than DA.

I don't think I've ever seen that temple in person but you photo of it is lovely. I really like how the blue sky contrasts with the creme color of the stone. Good eye!

It's one of my favorites, came across it, like most things with me, by accident! If you're ever in the neighborhood, it wouldn't hurt to drop by it when the opportunity arises. It really is a sight. Anyway, thank you kindly for droppin by and Im pleased you enjoyed it. =)

I will have to stop by if I am ever in the neighborhood...although that isn't very likely. I usually make it to Salt Lake once a year. I suppose I could make a quick drive to Manti.

It's my pleasure. You have a nice gallery...keep it coming!

Understood. I dont know if I'd call it a quick drive from salt lake (probably end up being a couple hours to it) but it's a wonderful drive as mom and I discovered. You get to see a difference side of the Wasatch, and its simply enchanting in some parts.

I will let you know if I get the chance to take that drive in the near future :)

My wife would really like to attend a session there someday.

please do, I do hope you and your wife do get the chance in the near future. Come to think of it, isn't Manti included in one of the few that still do live sessions?

Thanks :)

I believe that Manti and Salt Lake still do live sessions. It is possible that other 'histroical' temples do as well. The Palmyra temple, which is the closest one to Rochester, does not do live sessions.

Beautiful building, but I'm not sure I like the angle on this one. It seems a bit tilted to the left. Both the angle of the building and the green horizon slope add to the effect.

whine whine whine ;p I know, the hill didnt help me at all when I was out there. If you could see some of the direct shots I got of it lol it'd seriously look exponentially whacked because of the hill. I might get another chance this afternoon but I'll have to see if I have time.

lol it's alright, not too many know about this particular place. It's one of the earliest LDS temples, and a particular favorite of mine. *nods* The Church takes great care in the maintenance of their temples and the grounds surrounding them, sparing no expense. Pleased you enjoyed it =)

I love shots like these...where you can not see the horizon behind the main object of focus. Always makes me feel like the subject is really high of, on a cliff or something.

Beautiful structure m'dear. Beautiful.
I love the rose color of the stones. If I was to think of an LDS temple this would be it. Just seems to be perfect.

I would however warn somone. It appears to be ready to start sliding down the hill.
